Humanitarian Leadership: South Aceh Regent Mirwan MS Appointed BFLF Indonesia Trustee

Banda Aceh News | BANDA ACEH — The Blood For Life Foundation (BFLF) Indonesia has officially appointed South Aceh Regent Mirwan MS as a member of the foundation’s Board of Trustees for the 2026–2031 tenure. The official decree (SK) was handed over directly by the General Chairman of BFLF Indonesia, Michael Octaviano, during a meeting in Banda Aceh on Sunday, November 8, 2026.

The strategic appointment marks a major institutional milestone for BFLF Indonesia as it seeks to strengthen organizational governance and expand cross-sector partnerships with local governments to support healthcare, blood donor drives, and humanitarian aid operations.

Michael Octaviano emphasized that integrating government leaders into the advisory board will accelerate the foundation’s social impact across the region.

“For us, synergy with the government is vital. Humanitarian movements cannot operate in isolation—they require sustained collaboration, policy support, and multi-stakeholder involvement so that tangible benefits reach broader segments of society,” Michael stated.

Strategic Collaboration for Healthcare Access

BFLF leadership expressed optimism that Mirwan’s strategic guidance will help scale key humanitarian programs, including emergency blood supply networks, rural health services, psychosocial support, and assistance for low-income families.

Michael noted that local government involvement helps build a sustainable social safety net rather than relying solely on temporary relief efforts.

“Our core principle is straightforward: BFLF’s presence must yield concrete benefits. We want to ensure that vulnerable citizens needing emergency blood transfusions or medical accompaniment receive proper care. Strengthening institutional collaboration is essential to achieving that goal,” he added.

Fulfilling Oversight and Advisory Duties

In his role as trustee, Mirwan will provide strategic counsel, safeguard the foundation’s mission and vision, conduct institutional oversight, foster partner networks, and guide social impact initiatives.

The appointment was formalized under the Decree of the General Chairman of Blood For Life Foundation No. 1/SK-BFLF/VI/2026 on the Ratification of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees for 2026–2031, enacted in Banda Aceh.

With its newly reinforced leadership structure, BFLF Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to expanding humanitarian outreach and building robust healthcare support systems across Aceh and nationwide.
